In order for what happened to have happened, that car had to be moving well in excess of the speed of stupidity. That is a completely STRAIGHT F****** stretch of road for god's sake!!!

My condolences to the family of the young woman who was lost in this...hers is the tragedy in this situation. As far as the male driver?? Well, I wouldn't cry if his stupid a** didn't make it.

Tire blowing wouldn't put someone face first into a tree. If it's a front tire, the wheel would jerk out of his hand, and bring him into a flat spin, rear tire would simply keep him going almost straight. The only way a tire blowout could have affected this is if he were slalom racing between cars, and was pointed the wrong direction...

...instinct dictates that if your vehicle starts losing control, that unless you're professionally trained otherwise, you would automatically be hitting the brake to slow down...

...he had to have been going at an awfully high rate of speed in order to carry that kind of energy into an impact with a tree.

Oh, and I do have to say that I feel bad for that motorcycle rider who saw that accident, and was on scene to witness the death of a human being. It's something that no one other than the trained professionals should have to deal with, or have running through their head...

That link puts better light on the situation. If the guy makes it, he is going to have psych issues for killing his girlfriend. I wouldn't want to make it if I killed my girl... I'd rather die with her.

I'm an EMT and you'd be amazed how many people take life for granted because normal people don't really get to see this kind of stuff. Especially not on a daily basis. That motor cycle rider's reaction could easily be your own one day. We ran my first code blue when I was training and the man's whole family was there (grandkids, kids, etc.) and he didn't make it.

I really hope that we don't know this person...

Damn that hella sucks RIP Young Woman, hopefully the story will come out on the paper or news and hopefully the kid will get what he deserves. Makes me think of the bonehead things I have done on the road, and also makes me think more about my Family and how life is so Fragile
