Where to stay @ Kirkwood
Some of you already know, we have a BAIC ski trip to Kirkwood this Friday. My friend & I are planning to stay up there for a night and play for one more day.
But hell I don't seem to find anything but the $$$ kirkwood accomodation up there. I've only done day trips up there so far and I indeed don't recall coming across anything on the way.
Any pointers?

On a very good day it could be 30 mins. Road is clear, no traffic and you're traveling at a brisk pace. I don't recommend sleeping your car. you're up there to ride, get a good night sleep, eat, shower etc. plus uhh you're up in there where it's gonna freeze at night.
If anything, find a few people and share a room. It shouldn't be that much.

It usually takes me 40-45min from south Lake Tahoe if the road is ok.
I think there is two small motels north of Kirkwood. It is like 10min. away.
I usually stay at south Lake Tahoe, just because of the night life. Go out to dinner and roll some dice.
Kirkwood does not have many places to stay near by, but it is sure nice. I think it is rated one the best snow in Tahoe. That place is big. One year I went in the backside right after a big storm and the power is soft and smooth. It was like surfing on snow.
Can always go to Sierra at Tahoe on you last day. It is about 20min from South Lake Tahoe.
Cheers.

I seriously don't wanna drive 45mins to S. Tahoe coz the weather is gonna be ugly still and that could mean very nasty road condition...
