Where to Get Tires Mounted... Custom Alignment Worth it?
Getting some new shoes, MX's on subzero's. Did a little browsing on tirerack and noticed that Custom Alignment in MV was the only place around here with the 5 star ranking around here. Was wondering if it was worth it since there a a decent amount more expensive than other generic places.
I called them up, asking if they did anything special and they said they use the sumithin' sumthin' 9000 machine for balancing which most shops don't. I know Gagan recommended them a few months back, anyone else been there?
He also said it could be from 14-30 bucks a tire depending on if the tires had to be reverse mounted or other special proceedures whatever that means. do the sub's or mx's require this? anyone know?

With my bad wheel balance, they made it work... it was like magic.
For alignment i'd go to Auto Innovations, however, if it's for mounting and balancing, go to Custom Alignment... Worth the money.

I'm not sure what the machine you sorta mentioned is but I've seen one where the tire is balanced on the wheel under load like if it was actually on pavement. They place these roller things on the tread while it's spinning. It helps seat and balance the tire more thoroughly than just spinning and adding weights. Perhaps that's what you mean?
