where to get modern Sofa
So my futon from Ikea fell apart after my friend sat on it. The material they use is just crap. We are now looking for a good one below 600 bux.
Any recommendations of where to go to? EQ3 is nice but will look at more places since we are looking for something modern but doens't cost an arm and a leg.
Something modern but not cheap in quality like Target or Sears.
Thanks

macy's furniture outlet on whipple ave in union city.
got a $1600 Natuzzi leather sofa for $450. Microfiber sofa's are even cheaper.
Caveat...these are scratch and dents from the main Macy's stores, so inspect each one carefully. Some are very minor (our sofa has one rear leg nicked...leather is in perfect condition)...others are obvious flaws.
Also, they're cheaper during big holidays.

craigslist FTW, thats where I got my sofa. Honestly if you want a good futon sofa you are gonna have to pay some. If you still have the frame for the Ikea futon, you may be able to keep that and go to a futon shop to pick up a replacement futon of decent quality.

You will have trouble finding much thats quality udner $600. I have a bunch of EQ3 stuff, and its decent, but not THAT high quality.
Evolution is another great place, but their sofas wont be less than $1000. I have a microfiber suede oen from L (big L shaped thing) and love it, but it wasn't cheap..
With furniture, you get what you pay for.

you can try:
west elm

chiasso

they are nice, and not as expensive as Design Within Reach
if you have any architect/ designer friends, some stores give trade discounts.
