ok I guess ill check them out. What I really liked was this manfrotto head that had 3 levels in it, and then the tripod with the levels. I need something that rotates up/down and left/right and stays true. Also have some upcoming work so i'm kinda scoping out what will be useful for that as well. Yep work is paying for it, essentially ive been testing with velbons for a while and imo they are dog****. I actually think this crapper monopod is better from frys because there is no way for it to get off, but it also has no adjustments and is pretty lame in reality.

I'll have to check out the gitzo pods as well.........too bad the damn camera doesnt have a level for all axis and a range meter, and motorized wheels and...a george foreman

fyi im not renting just buying- I had checked out some crap from manfrotto and it made me believe only this place in SF carries them, but then I heard wolfe/ritz has some bogen/manfrotto kits?? or something to that effect. Guessing ill probably have to go to a real camera store (not ritz/wof) to get the sweet manfrottos but will see.

Thing that sucks imo is you really need to get your hands on to see how things play out.....that being said having been using velbons it can only get better from here.......i think some twigs and ductape would be better......at least you'd know what the **** it was doing!!!!!!

if you're in SF, check out calumet. they deal with video stuff as well, and video stuff requires a very solid tripod. i'm sure they can help you there.

Haha, Manfrotto makes some sick *** tripods. They are all over Amazon/Ebay/Local Camera stores. I don't know of places that rent, but I'm sure you can find some.

Hey got my setup. boommmmmmmmmmmski its so sick......have yet to use it though. Just wanted to say thanks to y'all as it really helped me out.

I got a new question for you, i'm trying to possibly mount a laser on the camera, I was hoping to use the flash hotshoe or whatever but just get like a bracket that the flash uses (dont want the whole flash unit).......do people make these? it's for a pentax.......also you got any other ideas??

I guess it's a "flash plate" or "flash plate retainer"
