Not really south bay but, Peninsula.... Not terribly far from Palo Alto but, there's a spot in San Carlos that sells it.... right off of El Camino.
In the vicinity of:
21 El Camino Real, San Carlos, CA
(That's the address of a cheesesteak shop across the street.... To die for )
Top shelf oil and a cheesesteak?.... definitely worth the drive.
EDIT:
You can google map:
El Camino Real and Hull Dr, San Carlos, CA
Go street view and see the Amsoil shop.

I won't run it again. As far as their extended drain intervals go, it's BS. Most of our cars rip though oil by 3k you're a quart low. +1 to the Castrol Syntec. $21 for 5qts at Wal Mart. Every 3-3.5K you're set.

From everything I have seen in print and in experience, Amsoil is the best out there.
Does that mean that Redline or Royal Purple are garbage, no. Realistacally all of the true synthetics exceed what you should need in all but the most insane circumstance.
IMHO blended synthetics are just expensive natual base oils. Might as well run a Diesel rated natural base as a blended synthetic. Again, just an opinion.
The extended oil change stuff makes me nervous. With the older spec oils, it was ok. But with the new low-zinc oil emissions specs, no one seem to be sure how long the stuff lasts. For my STi, I am maintaining the 3-4K interval.

Spun a rod bearing under AMS, doesn't mean when you run this oil, your motor wont "pop." Motors can pop under any oil. AMS is good because its a grade IV synthetic unlike Mobil 1 being grade III. Royal Purp is the most expensive to produce being a grade V synthetic.
