Where can I get flocking materials or pay to have it done?

you know the cool looking dashboard the WRC cars have? zero glare. the technique is called flocking.

Has anyone here done it, or know where to get it done?

flocking = glue (3M spray or otherwise) + material (sand, powder, dust, etc)

Peep your local hobby shop.

Hmm, +1. Does anyone have a photo handy? I'd like to see the finished product.

btw, flocking doesn't stand up to every day usage very well. I've done it in a bunch of different projects but there's no way I would do my dash in a daily driver. I'd predict that it would look like **** by the end of the week.

What method was used for applying the flock? Your fellow britts seam to agree that a high electrostatic charge(60,000 volts) is required for a proper long lasting application.

It seems to me that anything that could take the shine away would be grand. Even a high quality matte spray. Of course you wouldn't be able to say it was like the rally cars and whatever, but it would get the glare away... Another option would be to find a way to attach some black felt to the dash, but that could get messy for sure! Wonder if there is any non-shiny speaker grille-cloth as it stretches nicely, so it would conform to odd shapes on the dash.
