theres also a station from seattle with a similar model.

anyone take a gander at that free fm 106.9 or whatever? looks interesting.
I've been listening to 106.9 Free FM for a couple days. It has its moments, but not that impressive. It's all talk radio, and amusing at times. It falls under my second tier stations, you know, the ones on FM2 on the stock deck.

I was wondering the same thing. I was commuting to work and I flipped to 104.9 expecting some good music and all I got was MexiCali.

No kidding. Unfortunately, its not just the tourist anymore. There are a bunch of rich buying up property and driving up prices. Damn yuppies. Kill them all.

its all about the college radio

Commercial radio is just terrible- heard a clearchannel 'radio should be free' ad over the weekend in LA- followed by 4 minutes of ads. Funny- the ad perported to be about to out an actor, and you shouldnt have to pay to hear gossip. wtf.
College radio is the way to go- music people are passionate enough about to spend their free time playing for you. Except often those people are into death metal or bangra so you have to flip between them. No ads, few interruptions, and the often poor signal quality is my justification for not buying a pimp stereo for my car.

Really just look up your local JCs and uni's over the web, but...

All over:
Berkeley KALX 90.7
Foothill College 89.7

South Bay
!Santa Clara 103.3
San Jose State 90.5
No idea 87.9

SF:
USF 90.3
SF State ?
