Decade begins on the lowest year "0" and ends on the highest year "9"

What kind of logic has the beginning of a 10 year period with year 1 then ending it on year 0?

The year 2000 wasn't in the 90's. And yes, I am one of those that believe that the current calendaring system started in the year zero.

The new decade starts at the year with the earliest (lowest) value, zero. A decade is ten years and ends 2009.

2000-2009
2010-2019
2020-2029
etc...

Thats assuming we started at year 0.

Going from negatives (BC years) to positive (AD years) you can't skip 0.

That makes about as much sense as saying a 40 year old is still in their thirties...

I guess I can look it up, but when did people start using the current calendar? Its not like after J.C. died, someone said, "OK....EVERYONE, LISTEN UP!! That crazy guy with the beard and dirty feet that got us all drunk on wine and fish last week just died, so this is now Year ONE.....GOT IT? Everyone change up your calendars, turn back your clocks, and we'll all celebrate Year TWO in 365 days (except in year 4, when we'll go with....umm...how about 366 days?) OK?? OK!"
