Oh ****, I didn't realize that. I thought two freaking cars ran. I hope the jackasses in the truck, as Brucelee would say, get hit by a missile!

Sorry about what happened. I was thinking that I too would have turned around and tried to help out if a crash like that happened right near me.

The thing that may hurt the most is the time it takes to clear everything up. Especially since there was more than one vehicle involved in an incedent.

After reading the story twice, I still don't get it, the guy in the truck and another guy in the crash took off together leaving the scene?

yes, though most of the people I know would much rather have a car totaled out than fix a car with damages in excess of 50%+ its total value

very good read, thank you.

My insurance company is actually very good, i have had to deal with them before unfortunately.

Looking at my car i actually dont want it back, cars are just never the same after they have been in a bad accident. I really love that car, but im afraid it just wouldnt be right after it got repaired.

To answer other questions,
1. Both other people involved took off. Not together though. The car that got rear ended drove(sorta) off in one direction, and the people in the truck that caused both accidents ran away on foot because thier vehicle was undriveable.

2. This happened on hwy 12 by fulton road on the way to sabastopol.

I wonder if the person that ran on foot stole that truck, because don't they realize that there is such a thing as vin numbers and license plates?

Wow, they took off like that, crazy. There are a lot of shops that people have dealt with around the bay area, some good some bad. If fixed right, i wouldn't think the car would drive bad or anything. Either way, goodluck man, sucks that this happened.

I have a bad feeling your car should be totalled but will be repaired by your insurance company. I have a friend whose car has been in two accidents, both major, and the insurance company both times spent more than the car was worth to repair (ended up over $25k both times). Be overly persistent in telling your insurance company that your car is totalled and find proof in any way possible to that effect.

I have USAA too.

They are excellent, they will take good care of you, as they did me when someone totalled my car.
