Wheel spacer size...

hey guys, quick question..... I'm gonna be gettin a set of spacers.... I got 16x7 slips, with a 45 offset. Just wondering what would be the max size i could go without having to roll or cut the fenders. If anyone know's off the top of their head that would be great, but i'll just measure tomorrow at work.

thanks,
ugz

aww you *(@$&~!~

where did you find 16x7 slips? please let me know!

you wouldnt need spacers

I have 16x7 +50 and i run 225's on my 99RS without rub, fenders are cut bit.

since you have a NEW RS im assuming you have even more room, i wouldnt worry unless you plan on running a 255, you might be able to do a 245 rolled and suspended right, other people run that with your generation body.

where do i get 16x7 slipstreams?!

HAHAHA sucka! I'm the man at findin **** like that!

I got em off a guy up at Davis..... 700 picked up..... that was about almost 2 years ago.... best wheel i've had on any car.... I'm thinkin about goin up to MAYBE 225's but that seems a little big on a 7 inch wheel don't ya think?

Have you seen a pic of em on the car?

225 matches a 7 inch...if its 225/50 the sidewall should be straight up and down.

youll be perfect with a 225.
im sure you could put a 245 on a 7, but it would balloon a bit.

i hate 16x8 slipstreams, its all people have! it makes no sense, i dont need 8 inch wide wheels! WTFFFFFF

wow.... well then something is off on my 7's because a 205 looks a little wide but it might just be the tire.... lol.

here's pics..... the tires are Hancook RS-2's

the car is pretty low too... not sure what difference that makes.

let em know what ya think, the only reason i was gonna do spacers is because no-one makes a front sway bar for the 05RS..... so i'm screwed that way, where if i do the spacers it'll give me alot more stability in the turns....

those tires look good, but yeah, they are wide...diff brands...your RS2 actually looks wider than my 225 potenza050 on my 7 inch rim.

dont bother with wheel spacers, you'll do more harm than good, an extra few millimeters wider stance wil throw off your susp. geometry and do more harm than good...the farther the tires are from the pivot points the more they will scrub and push when your car moves up and down.

id keep it how it is now

and you should be able to use a 05 wrx front sway bar, i dont see why not.

it's the way the RS exhaust is..... instead of the exhaust dropping off the heads and and moving towards the front of the car, then heading back to the up-pipe like the WRX.... the RS exhaust drops off the heads and goes straight back.... the RS exhaust is simply in the way. Whiteline makes a front sway, but it's for 1st gen RS's only. So i'm not entirely sure if it will fit on a 3rd gen RS. There is a RS header that will allow for the WRX front sway, but it adds basically no power and no torque whatsoever. AllFoShow, as we say in cali....lol.

It's just to bad companies got ***in boost crazy and don't want to spend a little time into developing performance parts for NA subies. i mean COBB is great an all... woohoo, but i'm not gonna pay 1300 for a head and valve train upgrade that won't allow my car to be smoged.

That's the one thing Civics and **** got over NA subies.... lot's more NA performance parts.

i really want to do a throttle body swap..... i just need to know what to but and really need some kind of a how-to guide for it. i've been searching rs25.com but no luck so far. Another thing that would be cool would be an actual upgraded intake manifold with some kind of a velocity stack or swirl feature built into the manifold it's self.

NA drivers got to remember, if ya want power, ya got to look at old cars and how they did it..... especially old muscle cars..... ford gt40 swirl heads for example.... by swirling the fuel/air mixture in the combustion chamber, raid the compression almost a full point and opened up LOADS of power. Cam's we got.... heads we got, valves we got, but the Manifold it's self....... that's the next thing..... manifold and throttle body.
