Wheel painting question

Just want opinions from other owners...what do you think of painted white wheels on a black 02 wagon? Wheels are Rota Subzeros, don't judge the wheels just color! and they are curbed so I'm going to attempt to shave off and repair all curb damage and then paint the black wheels white...or maybe just not fix the curb damage as they're going to get damaged again

make sure you use the right primer. My friend painted his wheels and now the paint is chipping off.
Hopefully it comes out clean. Post some pics when you're done.

the right primer for painting your wheels are the etching primer..it wont flake if it gets hit.. also dont forget your high temp clear coats... i painted mine and they are holding up great.. used the harley davidson grey and high temp clear coat... shinny but not too much...

Where can someone buy etching paint? Is it Home Depot type stuff or from a car parts store? Thanks

well, it would be etching "primer" that you would need, which only goes on bare metal, not over exsisting paint...

you can get some good stuff at an automotive paint store...I wouldnt go to home depot or a parts store...go to places like Lowes Paint, or even sherwin williams. You can take your rims to "Wheel Techniques"...they do great jobs on rim repair and paint....infact, I believe they do "powder coating" which is WAY better than painting your rims, powder coating dosnt chip as easy and will last longer and comes in different colors too.

Also be sure to ask about the turnaround time if you depend on your ride for daily transportation.
