Car Info: MY04 STi some call it a race car
we have all the hubs, bearings and seals in stock.
and we have a press as well but we aren't as cheap as AHQ; at $7.50 that is a steal.
just my $0.02, which isnt worth much

Hey I really appreciate it, and I will stop by for that service (unless we wuss out and just bring you the whole car haha). I am only a couple miles away and wanted to talk to ya anyway. Might stop by in the next couple days. Will be doing some pretty major work on this car in the coming months.
Thanks for the info everyone!

honestly, $7.50 is SUPER cheap! and i'm sure that if i could, i'd take advantage of that deal.
and per parts, i've already purchased Timken bearings from the local DIY auto shop.
but, back on topic...
ceramic wheel bearings. does anyone have any real world experience with them? i do know that they would be overkill for me, but apparently that is what i need...

For all you fellas who can't get a hold of a bearing press, we have a nice hydraulic bearing press here at AHQ. I will be happy to have Jerry press in your bearings at a verrrry low price per hub. Say what $7.50? for each bearing pressed into the housing for you.
Let me know..
Oh, and as far as I know, everything comes separately...

go to a machine shop, you would be charged similar as well. Our price would be very similar too (not the same as GST but similar).
ITS THE COST of doing business.
AHQ apparently has less cost to conduct there business...to each's own and good for them to be able to make it worth there while doing something for $7.50....If you ask me, I wouldn't touch anything for that little money but again thats there business.

Your catalog is so... nevermind.
28016AA030 97-07 WRX, RS, OBS, et al.
28016PA010 -07 STi
The above are rear bearings.
The fronts are your NT number through 3/04. After they become 28316FE000. There are also hub/bearing units that are sealed units (i.e. STi).
08/09 cars used sealed hub/bearing units front and rear.
Of course this isn't totally detailed. I could go more into it, but it's a good enough idea.

You'd be hard pressed to mess it up when a single application covers 10yrs. Dork.

some one PMed me this
I didn't want to post, as it was getting way off target. But it was the 04 STi that had the crappy bearings. After three sets I got the 6 Gun kit and switched to the 05 and later set up. Should have done that the first time out. No issues what so ever since swithching out.
Check out 6gunracing. They have a kit that switches the 04 STi over to the 05+ bearings and steering knuckles. It is around $800 but well worth it as I have had no problems with 20+ track days on it. I was blowing through the 04 stuff in three or four track days. Sometimes at the track and it would have been $600+ for a tow home if someone hadn't volunteered their AAA+ card. I haven't talked to them in a while so I hope they are still in buisness. They also sell a kit for a little less that switches the bolt pattern over to 5X114. Then you have more options for wheels, but then you have to buy more wheels. Just thought you might want to know.
