I think the answer is
Old People cause inconvenient accidents:because they drive slower real predictably
Teens cause preventable fatal accidents:because they drive faster unpredictably

What about the people that drive with the full mask on and long gloves? They are so careful, they have to stop in the middle of the freeway to read the signs and know which way they're going. Stopping in the middle of the freeway is pretty scary and pisses me off.

I am at the age where my sister and I will have to remove the car keys from our parents within the next few years. Our parents are in their early 80's and live in a small village with patchy public transport. Luckily they are still fit enough to be able to walk from their home to the village shops to buy food and other necessities.
Father has always been a competent driver. However, he lost the sight in one eye a little over a year ago. At that point he stopped driving and went through rigorous testing before getting behind the wheel again. He no longer drives at night. He is understandably a little cautious now, but is still very aware of his surroundings. His reaction time has slowed a bit, and he knows that the time for hanging up the keys is approaching. He is mentally preparing for that day and figuring out other ways to get around without a car.
Mother rarely drives any more. Her reaction time is still okay, but she drives slower now. She sticks to minor back roads and does not impede traffic very much.
My sister and I are lucky in that our parents are aware of their limitations and have accepted that their driving days are almost over. If either of them has more health issues, then obviously their driving privileges will be lost earlier.
I'm not defending "old" people, but I think many of them continue to drive past the time they really should because they don't want to give up the freedom and independence that comes with being able to drive. Think back to when you got your first car and how excited you were that you had finally got some freedom. Now picture having that taken away - by your children!
Yes there should be stricter laws about testing those past the age of 70 on an annual basis and enforcing the removal of their driving privilege once they are no longer safe to drive.
