i say you play it safe and pull over, if your scared, just pull over somewhere public then. as far as running or not stopping trust me that warning is going to get worse if you do something besides pulling to a side...

and for the most part cops or detectives in unmarked cars wont do traffic crap they hate it.. its in those extreme cases that they feel they need to give you a warning...

edgar,

exactly, also just lock your doors, and only roll down you window an inch or two and just ask for proof and/or have them call a uniform. if they wont then dont roll down you window all the way and just leave. also if they ask you to get out of the car, do not and i mean do not get out, you will probably have ur car jacked, most cops dont want you to get out they will yell at you to stay in the car.plus dont trust some little badge or anything, they could have stolen that too.

SFPD has been very nice with me.

unlike that metermaid on Mission Street that gave me a tix for double parking with a city vehicle while i was on official duty. WTF is that, even my supervisor didn't believe it. well, guess that the metermaid is having his BF moment.

miami.

Don't forget:

Any person who, while operating a motor vehicle and with the intent to evade, willfully flees or otherwise attempts to elude a pursuing peace officer's motor vehicle
"Going Steve McQueen" is, as I said, illegal. But simply not stopping is not if the officer's vehicle doesn't meet those requirements.

Edit: Yes, thanks for citing the actual law for us. first fair and impartialp post in the whole thread.

I wish people wouldn't post unless they really know what the hell they're talking about.
It's the internet. We reserve the right to post rumors, guesses, half-truths, innuendo, and occasionally outright lies because anything posted on the 'net has gotta be true!

j/k, thanks for posting the link and actual laws pertaining to the topic.

Wow. It took a whole day but finally someone found it. Thanks Endeavor. Thanks a million.
