Is that the only problem? i was expecting someone to tell me we couldnt do it there for a bigger reason.

Heat aside is Altamont possible? (at a different time of year if needed?) nows a good time to change the season of this meet i would think.

and heres that sick track down south for $500 a day!

Altamont during the summer is super dry and dusty, from my experience. Its no fun being hot then getting dirt in your eye from a warm breez, other than that its fine haha

Altamont? im talking about the Altamont that is 20 minutes away from Bay Water!

The Altamont that is closer to the North Bay guys!

Altamont is in the Bay area IMO, especially if i'm willing to drive there from Santa Cruz

Who cares about the bay area location, its the people from the bay area that are important.

The socal kart track was an example of what we could do, if that track was in NorCal. soooo the next best thing is ALTAMONT!

Let's see, what's important...

* People who aren't greedy and only take as much food as they will actually eat.
* People not racing on the roads and wrecking their cars.

That's good for me.

Which Bay you talkin' 'bout?

Discovery Bay is the only body of water within half an hour of Altamont Raceway park.

Its over an hour to SF or SJ; 1:10 to Vallejo, 1:20 to San Rafael, 1:40 to Santa Cruz, but not 20 minutes from any bay that I'd refer to as "the bay"

Music definitely needs to be going on the WHOLE time and some games would be cool. Maybe there could be a "spot the mods" contest or something?
CN: Stay at Mt. Hammy. More interactive events. Music.
I agree. I always thought of hammy to be more of a gathering and social event to bring the whole area together. There are seperate events all the time for autocross and it'd just complicate things.

I like the idea of having the tricycle/big wheels races though. Just so we can hurl water balloons at them

Just a friendly atmosphere is good enough. And food. All of these events sound like cool ideas, but I don't think everyone would all be down to pay for them.
I know there are a lot of skaters here, bring your board and we can play skate ;]

Just an opinion.
I did this at the last Fairfield BBQ and Drive. There were about 100 cars, just took forever!
