So all you need is the AccessPort right? No need for the AccessTuner?

That's correct. We have the Protuner software that enables us to custom tune any car with an Cobb AP.

Thanks,
Preston

I would strongly suggest going with the AP. The price difference is negligable when considering the added flexibility and future potential that the AP offers as compared with an Ecutek reflash. IMO Cobb's tuning software has also become superior to Ecutek's with a better interface and great features like live tuning that make any tuner's life easier. I honestly don't see any advantage to Ecutek anymore.

Thanks

Depends, but I would expect 1-1.5 hours per map.

Personally given the requirements of 99% of people on here the Cobb AP is most certainly the way to go, it does not have some of the maps available for some of the more technical applications but I have yet to see any of them needed on a street driven car.

The unit cost (don't forget resale value to!) coupled with the ability to run multiple maps make it very hard to resist over the existing offerings on the market.

The live tuning aspect on the AP gives the tuner much better mapping ability when used with tools such as load based dyno's (think rotated turbo and MAF scaling for intake flow differences) as you can now load the car and tune each cell/area with ease rather than having to take notes and flash then test again like conventional reflashing.

If anyone has anymore specific questions please let me know

Mike

Is there such thing as smog check friendly AP map for VF34 with stock downpipe. I think that would come handy someday.

The two maps only affect boost curves and nothing else. No fueling, no timing, etc. And doesn't work on 05s.

This only works with 02/03 ECUs. I could be wrong, but I have not heard of 2 maps on any 04/05 models.

As stated above this only works on the 02/03 Ecu's.

You can map this to make it work like 2 maps but it does take a little work to do properly which is why most places make the second map a wastegate spring map due to it being simple to do.
