What is the ULTIMATE college/bacholer/budget food?

It's even better when mom and dad have a restaurant - I'm out of school now, but I still go there for free food. Hell, I even take some home to make during the week.

I take it you didn't go to an expensive school, and I bet you didn't have an expensive (well, expensive to us at the time) car. Car was a priority for me so car payments (which actually weren't too bad because I put a lot down) plus school tuition + books + supplies = raped! Tuition especially... Bleh!
Did you go to a community college? Did you finish college?
My first year was at Ohlone and I had money because I worked, but as soon as I got to a higher end school my money went to tuition, books, and supplies, and that was while working and with a huge loan.

I like how College english classes teach you how to write 12 page papers and rely on spell check, not memorize how to spell words. There's no spelling class in college.

Freshman year at Colorado, I got a season pass to Vail/Beaver Creek ('96-'97, prior to the 5-mountain pass). Consequently, I was pretty broke. Our solution was to go to the Vail "food court" and get a ton of saltine crackers and some ketchup/mustard to put on 'em. We'd also bring ramen packets and just use a cup from the soda fountain to fill with the on-demand hot water they had. Super cheap bastards we were! Until they banned us from taking saltines unless we were buying soup
