What should I do?

About a year and a half ago I got a ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian, which was a joke itself because it was a trap with an officer in the cross walk and several squad cars in an adjacent parking lot. Instead of fighting the ticket because I felt it was entrapment, I paid it and took online driver's ed to keep the ticket off my record. About a week ago, I switched auto insurance from AAA to State Farm. Today I the quote from State Farm and it comes out to $3000 a year!!!!!!!!! The reason it is so high is when the agent looked up my dmv record I had a ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian and a speeding ticket I got a couple months ago on 17. My question is I am positive that I took and completed online traffic school last year to keep the failure to yield ticket off my record but it still shows up on my record. What do I do to get the failure to yield ticket off my record because I know I was eligible for traffic school and I completed it for the sole purpose to keep my record clean. This is really important because its the difference between 1600 a year versus 3000 a year for insurance.

you should look for proof that you attended traffic school and present that to the DMV and ask them to correct the issue. If they won't, since most of them douchebags, I would try to go back to the court in which you were cited and speak to a clerk and let them know what happened.

Proof of traffic school completion is important. if you dont have it, look for the number of the place you took it as they should have a record of it.

Good luck!

yeah that's what I would check out. I know when bryan took traffic school we ordered 2 copies of the certificate and mailed the court one copy certified and kept one for our records. The place you took it should have it in their records.

how did you end up getting a quote a week after you switched with them? When I moved here and got on insurance they pulled my dmv record the same day and told me my price.

so I followed the advice I was given and was able to get my certificate from the traffic school, the thing is the court told me that I was not given a point for the violation but the violation stays on my record for three years so the insurance company can still see it. I thought that if you attended traffic school the violation was removed from your dmv record. So my question is if you attend traffic school is your record supposed to be clean of the violation as well or do you just not get a point on your record?

And to answer your question Gibz I haven't actually switched but I was planning to do it next week but now I am completely unsure of what im going to do.

I think that's right. The violation is there, but the points are not. And I thought for some violations, it's on your record for 7yrs.

Good luck, I would get a quote from a different company. Farmer's has been cheap for me, but they contracted it out to Mid-Century out of Los Angeles in my case.

I was busted for the same thing. Entrapment, it's how the city gets paid.

Car Info: .

Main Entry:
en·trap·ment Listen to the pronunciation of entrapment
Pronunciation:
\-mənt\
Function:
noun
Date:
1597

1 a: the action or process of entrapping b: the condition of being entrapped2: the action of luring an individual into committing a crime in order to prosecute the person for it
This isn't entrapment. A scummy way to make money? Yes, but not entrapment.

Hmmm - I know traffic school removes a speeding ticket from your insurance record. Maybe a fail to yield is different
