Some people will tell you that premium gas is a waste of money. Maybe in some cars, but with a turbo its better to be safe and use synth.

Not all cars have a pinwheel in the hottest part of the car and then spin it around 50k-100k RPM, whip up oil and return it boiling hot to the pan. But mine does. So I use an oil that can take the heat.

Did 5w30 dino oil until 7500 changed around 2000 except the last one at about 1500, just switched to amsoil 5w-30 and it seems to be pretty happy.

Was on dino for the first 5k miles then switched to 5-30w Mobile 1 synth. Just switched to Amsoil. I dunno the for the price i figured that it must be pretty good. But I then heard that Amsoil has ummmmm something bad in it. Addititives? Crap I can't remember what they're called. I dunno thinking about trying Redline, but I think moble one is prolly the best bang for the buck. I don't like the idea of changing my oil every 3 months and paying 65 dollars. Not sure that Redline or Amsoil is worth that much. Never had problems with Mobile one synth.

cheers

It is easy to do your own oil. It costs about $20 for the oil and $5 for the filter.

If you have any mechanical inclination go ahead and try it out for yourself. Over the life of your car you'll save a lot of money and get some personal satisfaction out of it.

I used 0w-40 Mobil 1 for the WRX for a while, but switched back to 5w-30 since I use it for my Accord. My AE86 is on Amsoil.

on my old '02 WRX, and now on my '04 STi, I have always used (after an 8k mile break-in using dino oil), Redline 10W40 full-synthetic.
