What do you think my '99 RS is worth?

Hi Everyone,

I've been gone a while ... living in evo land, actually mostly working ...

I finally finished my RS project car, well 3rd iteration of it. Now that I have a 6 month old baby girl, I don't have time to track it.

Just curious to know what you think its worth, I have an idea ... but I'd like to see what others think.

Thanks for looking.

************

==== The Good ====
-- 1999 Subaru 2.5RS White with 39K miles on it
-- WRX Transplanted Motor - 15k miles on it
-- WRX 5spd Transmission - 4k miles on it

-- 3" Custom Exhaust System (w/ cat)
-- Vishnu Uppipe
-- Upgraded, VF30 Turbo
-- Massive Custom, Front Mount Intercooler
-- Upgraded Aluminum Race Radiator
-- Two Massive Spall Radiator Fans (only needs one to keep the car cool on the track)
-- TEC3 Engine Management System
-- Tial 38mm VTA Blowoff Valve
-- Vishnu Race Fuel Rails
-- RC Engineering Low Impedence 650 Injectors
-- Upgraded Throttle body - from 5.0 mustang
-- Some crazy, race Fuel Pressure Regulator
-- Supra Fuel Pump

-- StopTech Big Brake Kit -- brakes have less than 500 miles on them
-- Pagid Orange Race Pads (front)
-- Axxis Brake Pads (rear)
-- Goodridge Stainless Steel Brake Lines

-- STI JDM Struts and Springs
-- Upgraded/Bigger Rear Sway Bar
-- Kaaz Limited Slip Rear Differential
-- Rota 17" Tarmac with Toyo Proxy RA1s (235x45x17)

-- Compartment Kill switch, kills power to all electrical in the car, reachable from the driver's seat

-- Battery Relocation - under passenger seat, thin battery
-- Brand new front windsheild

-- Transplant done by LIC Motorsports
-- Engine Management done by Vishnu

-- Just paid registration for the coming year
-- Just smogged (7/06)

==== The Bad ====
-- Fenders have been cut .5 inch to make room for the bigger tires
-- There are some random scratches and bumps on the door and front fender

==== The Unsure ====
-- AC Unit has been removed
-- Front Bumper Beam has been removed - for FMIC
-- Trunk has been gutted

(its good if you want to track this car ... not so good if you're not interested in that kind of stuff)

whatever the bluebook says - $1000 for all the mods, unless you can find a buyer who wants your exact mods.

UBCSTI - you're right ... i'm looking for the RIGHT buyer.

To be honest, I don't really want to let the car go. The really fun part of this car is the mustang throttle body ... you won't see a WRX motor spool up this fast. Its very digital in nature (its on or its off). So you'll need a good sense of touch in your feet to drive this smoothly on the street ... on the track, not a problem since you're either on it or not.

This car is the scariest car i've had so far ... I do have Vishnu Stage 1+ Evo and sold my Vishnu Stage 2 WRX with all the suspension mods you can think of (it was in the sport compact car shootout). There is something to be said about a lighter chassis. This car can be induced to oversteer very easily and is some much lighter on its toes than the other two AWDs I've had.

I would LOVE to see pics of the engine bay+mustang throttle body. And any info you can share on this. I plan on keeping my 2.0L for at least another 1.5-2 years and really want to only add mods that will decrease spool time and give me better low-end power. if that helps, let me know!

For the right buyer, I would say this car is worth around $17K-$18K, possibly more.

Gagan - long time no see. Glad you're making use of the mount.

mcdrama - nope that must have been someone else. I do have a single corbeau forza in the mail for the RS. I hope it gets here in the next day or two.

Mt. Hammy - I forgot its my parents anniversary on Sunday ... I'll try to make it out there, but its a brunch thing.

Just took some pictures ... i'll crop and post them shortly.
