What to do in Milpitas area
My fiancee, best friend and myself are heading to San Fransico to take some engagment photo's at the japenese tea gardens on saturday.
Then we're headed to Milpitas for some work related convention for my fiancee. We're staying in Milpitas for the night and may stop by D&B on Saturday evening.
Besides that, what is there to do in that area besides great america and a drive up the hill?
Thanks, Eric
EDIT: Looking for a good place to eat (nothing fancy just good food & atmosphere), interesting sites etc.
Please make this whole wedding thing end

I work in milpitas... it's pretty damn boring. Most places to eat are chinese/indian/vietnamese in asian shopping centers. Head out to San Jose Santana Row if you want some better eateries.
The only place I can recommend is Banana Leaf in Milpitas (Malaysian/Singaporean food). The food is pretty damn good, but it can get crowded.

LMAO - that's what I call it too. Milpitas stinks... literally! That dump that they have over near dixon landing makes the whole city smell during the summer.

Yeah I'd head out to santana row. Maybe out to university ave. you can check out the high profile shops...haaaaa. Some decent food out there. Palo Alto.
I mean milpitas is pretty much two things...... The Great mall. And McCarthy Ranch. (that's where banana leaf is and yes it can get very very crowded)
down town san jose you can hit up any of a couple of restaurants or the wine bar down there...has a coffee shop that they share a wall with. So you can get buzzed then chill out and fix the buzz with a different buzz. or just carry on with your buzz and go shoot some pool across the street at 1st street billiards.

yeah....you'll be fine in jeans and a tshirt/sweatshirt.
But if you want to be OG flossy floss you may want to throw on a collared shirt..haaaa. (there may be the overdressed OG crowd at Biersch..but leave them be...they don't understand no one cares they have 14 pairs of the same shoes)
only place you may want to get a little dressed up for is Citrus.
But I'll think you'll be fine at all of them.....they are steak hoses after all.
I find that jeans and collar can get you buy in most any place in san jose.

I second Henry's hi-life. That place has some good steaks.
Santana Row is alright. A little too overpriced in my opinion. I was at the v-bar a while ago, ordered 3 mixed drinks and a beer and it was $65 w/o tip haha. If you're there, check out Maggianos restaurant or Straights cafe.
