drop a 5.0 in it with a T5 and take it to the track. they actually have pretty decent suspensions. You'd be surprised how well 302 fits in there. Or, go crazy and do a nice stroker 408 that puts out about 500 hp and torque at the wheels. Now that would be nice. The station wagon part would be the icing on the cake.

These cars are so versatile and durable. My family just got rid of an '83 240DL sedan. Went up to 350,000 miles before any major repairs.

very true...state of california will give 700 bux to take it off the road because its so old, so i may just bang it up and do that. the mature thing to do, of course.

i really don't want to make the time to bother with the beast. i've driven it for almost 10 years and i'm looking forward to never seeing it again.

the car's blue with bird poop splotches, no power windows, automatic transmission, only 160k miles...car's in pretty good shape if someone's interested pm me...

otherwise, where can i go around the bay to have some off road fun with it?

edit: oh yeah its gas and the engine runs solid as a rock.
