It's not even a fair comparison. The standard equipment on the MS 3 makes it more equal to that of the STi. That would be the proper comparison. What does the MS 3 go for?

RE-92s on the WRX for the review, and the MS3 has high performance summer tires.

/End of review.

Put STi wheels and tires on it and then do the review! Even still. the mazda is quick... and its the fastest car that Mazda has to offer, the WRX egg isn't. Give to the STi to play with.

I hate Mazda... Ever since Ford took over... I know they dont do much for Mazda, but I just hate ford so damn much that if ford bought Subaru, I'd sell my subies and get an Evo or something.

According to the article, it's a bit cheaper than the WRX. So yeah, I would say it's a fair comparison dollar for dollar.

Bottom line, Subaru woke up the sport compact market in 2002. The other manufactures have had a good 5 years now to catch up while Subaru has spent 5 years giving the same car a nose job every couple years.

When you're at the top, it's easy for everyone else to just do what you do. It seems Subaru either doesn't care or has just been cocky and lazy about staying ahead. Doesn't surprise me at all that other manufactures are meeting or beating the WRX at this point.

23k...Not even close to the STis price.

It really could be sport compact of the year..263hp turbo direct injection, great handling, etc

Mazda just dropped the ball by making it fwd

Its not quite that bad. They still handle extremely well. And its not like fwd cars cant be fast, there are some hondas that turn sub 2:00 laps at T-hill
