The dollar amount for gas in Europe sounds so high because of the weak dollar, lol. In any case, I do agree that they've always paid much more than we do here in the US. I think that we shall hit $6 a gallon before we know it. I remember when we first hit $3 a gallon just a few years ago, and now here we are at $5. I am glad though that the high prices are encouraging a shift away from trucks and SUVs, and especially that the diesel price is the highest.

Yeah the funny thing is everyone back home is switching to a Diesel cars.. A Golf TDi gets about 70mpg on Diesel and is still a pretty cool car..

And the big thing is Diesel cost lower than gas.

Also the weak Dollar is one of the main reason Gas/oil is so high too.. The govt hear need to sort out our economy 1st and gas/oil 2nd.. I say bring over the Diesel cars, pump more money into electric cars make them better and I will buy one, get a solar panel and there we go infinte miles per gallon

I don't get why diesel is so expensive... it used to always be cheaper, and is definitely a better fuel for regular driving. More TQ and way better mileage...

lucky me i only drive 20 miles per day .... and both going and coming from work ..... no traffic unless there is an accident .... and i don't floor my subie .... and get around 320-330 per tank ..... that's like 26-29 mpg ..... not bad for a AWD Subaru
on the other hand i am considering a motorcycle also .... but that's in like 1 year or so .... and coming back to this topic ..... i won't stop driving ever ..... just cut down on other things in life
