the road doesnt' sound technical enough to mess up on. this sounds more of a equipment failure unless you were going faster than you claim. 3 flips in teh air is pretty wild.. dats all i got to say to that.
The first and only turn I was talking about was a sweeper and I was indeed going at a decent pace there and the tires actually did lose traction and slid here, although I was able to recover. After the car acted the way it did on that turn, however, I slowed down and decided to cruise the rest of the way to a gas station. Even then, the rest of the road was completely straight... not a single turn in site, except for having to swerve around the rock. At that point I wasn't going any faster than 50mph.

Thanks

That said, it's hard to know exactly what's going on when you're wrecking, so it's possible that in the chaos of the moment some details got mixed up. I know I felt like I'd rolled 100 times.
This is true... I sort of assumed the rolls were end over end because of the damage to the car and the fact that the side airbags didn't go off. I think because of the unusual angle of the impact with the ditch and the incline of the ditch, the car probably flipped end over and as well as latterally. And yes, 3 flips was my best estimate since no one else saw it happen.

Thanks

sliding is a bad thing when its unexpected, especially when its the front tires doing most of the sliding.

Ed:

I'm glad to hear that you walked away from a good wreck, cause any wreck that you can walk away from is a good wreck.

But let's turn this into a learning experience.
Can you:
-Post pictures of the road you were on. It may give us a better idea of surface conditions.
-Pictures of the car as it now sits.
-A copy of the accident report. Obviously, block out any sensitive info on it.

This may embarass you, but alot of us will learn from this experience, including yourself.

I'd be happy to post pictures, however I don't have any of the car. When I went to the tow yard they told me that only insurance could take pics of the car... seemed strange to me, but I figured I'd cooperate since they were very helpful with getting my belongings out of the car.

Thanks

SnoHumper -- Every time I have seen a car dyno tuned, the tuner asks the customer to take the car for a "hot lap" in the area around the shop to make sure it feels good. That or the tuner puts the customer in the passenger seat and does it themselves.... Shiv has a wonderful reputation of literally drifting the on-ramps near the shop with customers in the car. Other well-known and respected shops are in residential areas near parks.

Do you have to go take a hot lap because your tuner tells you to? No. Do you have to sit shotgun while your tuner shows you "what your car can do?" Do you have to road tune your car when Ed offers dyno tuning as well? No.

Get off Ed's case. He's not doing anything any more illegal than any of the other tuners in the country or members (except for you, apparently) on this forum.

At least he's in the middle of freaking nowhere in farmland. These "public" roads are straight and flat for miles with no cross-roads or anything in sight except for flat fields off to either side. If there were ever a place to road tune, it's the roads that Ed has chosen to use in Davis.

I think it's time you take up a more productive cause to preach about. How about THIS or some legit political stance? The Subaru community doesn't need your negativity, especially when it is so horribly out of place and completely tactless as it is here.

No matter how much I disliked you, your practices, or your beliefs, you would never see me talking **** about you in a thread in which you talked about wrecking your car or any other seriously bad thing happening to you. That's just ****ed up man. ...some seriously cold ****...

ed took me to the road where it happend...it was as straight as could be. I something had to be seriously wrong for it to happen. I went through the same turns with lots of **** in the car at about 30-40 miles an hour, like i said before there has to be something seriously wrong with the car for this to happen.

hey SNOHUMPER, answer these questions already

I find it hard to believe that you never violate at least some of the rules of the road that I posted. If you don't then more power to you, but pretty much everyone else on the board does, so take it easy.
HEY SNOHUMPER, answer these questions already! you say people should stick to the speed limit. you have NEVER gone over the speed limit??? HA. or was that just an obvious statement that you are being an asshat on purpose. stop trolling and try to make friends man. cuz we all hate you, dude.

SnoHumper is known as sxewrx on nabisco, so I'll give him the same blessing that I gave him over there:

Let me spell it out in plain ENGLISH:

I hope you and your F**king car wind up at the bottom of a canyon somewhere, taking the express route (off-road) down to the bottom. I hope you roll your car at least 8 or 9 times and you wind up with both hands amputated and your jaw wired shut. That way, you can no longer type, and the speaking software won't understand what you're saying, so you can talk to yourself, instead of spread such crap around here.

You obviously need things spelled out a little more than other people. You might try being nice to people, and they'll be nice to you.
