wavy glass help

Just had a glass company re-re-do the front windsheild on my car. Anyone else have any experience with "wavy" glass. Looks good straight on but at an angle it makes everyting look wavy. They new piece they just put in is worse than the one they took out.

The new piece of glass is made by PGW, when I talked to the glass place they told me the new glass would be oem. Who is the oem of subaru glass? I am fairly sure it is not Pittsburgh Glass Works.

I can't answer your questions, but I'd call them and tell them you want a new windshield. And one that is OEM.

PGW aka PPG is not the oem supplier of glass for Subaru. They are oem for most Hondas and Toyotas. PGW is a good glass company but they are producing their glass overseas in China nowadays and I'm pretty sure thats where your windshield was made. I would suggest the brand Pilkington.

The rest of the glass on the car is made by Nippon Sheet Glass Co, who bought Pilkington plc in June 2006. However they still make there auto glass under the name Pilkington. This is the second piece of replacement glass that has been put in, and it looks worse than the first. For the third try I am going to demand they use Pilkington. yay glass research is fun

The company has great customer service, They have been nothing but nice and apologetic about the glass not being up to my standards. I would even recommend them! (well we will see after install number three)

Well they came out today with the THIRD piece of glass, it was Pilkington, and it was just as wavy as the ppg. WTF??? Am I being too critical? Is all glass going to be "wavy"? The glass that was in there when I bought it did not look like this!! Allstar Glass is being awesome though. The installers have been great, they have all confirmed that yeah it looks wavy to them too. If I get some glass from Subaru, is it going to look wavy aswell????

I must say there customer service has been great. The installers have been professional and apologetic about the glass looking wavy. The office people have been calling me back when they say they will and trying to just "make it right" No complaints about the company just the glass they are getting.

Sent back the 4th piece of glass from "FYG" it was also wavy, the installer confirmed this. Now they say they are going to do OE glass from Subaru.
