okay, we all have cars that we look down upon. civics, neons, del sols... you get the idea.
what separates a knowledgable automotive enthusiast from a trash talking, immature,
wannabe is that the true car nut can appreciate the positive aspects of any well built car
without always having something negative to say. the insecure pretender is left with nothing
but negative things to say about other cars due to the fact that he desperately wants
other people to believe that he or his car is better.
nobody likes the guy who is always talking down on other people and their cars.

my brother has a black civic in houston that was doing like 560hp to the wheels without nos. full interrior and a/c. he has some videos online pulling a 9sec viper(with nos) 10 sec w/o and a suzuki gsxr somthing pulling him too. now he has a 70 shot of nos. to me thats great. but id never trade my wrx for that car ever. not in a heart beat. i respect all cars. but theres just some that are made a little better then others. the engine in the srt is awsome. hey thats what seperates it from the other 12k doller neons. 8,000 buks worth of engine in a car. hmmm... it better be fast.

Have you driven a 300+ whp FWD car? Torque steer is a *****. And the suspension is stock, you'll get wheel hop, which makes thing a lot worst.

I've been installing car audio professionally for almost 5 years now. I've taken apart and put back together just about every car you can think of. From my experience the neon seems to be on the of cheapest quality cars on the market. There is more to a car that just its speed on the 1/4 mile. They are almost a bigger piece of **** over the Mercedes benz. (old ones)
And to top it off whenever i work on a neon and i pull it out, i gotta wipe the oil off the floor...lol

i used to own two neons. a 98 r/t and a 2000 highline. I wasn't a neon fanatic, i just got good deals on them. and yes, they do leak a lot. i lost about 2-3qts of oil for every 3000miles. the tranny leaked too. I'm not sure about the SRT4 but chrsylers and fords etc etc are poorly designed IMHO.

I drove the srt-4 when it first came out and it was cool. stock to stock it was faster than the wrx on the freeway not by much but it pulled just a little harder. that srt-4 on the way back to the dealer to return the car I was getting on the freeway in first gear I stomped on it and it smoked the tires all the way into third gear. so i have say to for the money it is a great car. handled good too. but i think they should have changed the front end look. i would never buy one but you have to hand to those guys it is something to be on the look out for. dodge did there homework!
