Watch out for this SRT4

uh I'm sorry but uh how hard is it to go fast in a straight line?
There are an ASSLOAD of cars faster than mine, but if you're gonna throw down asspots of money to make something fast, WHY IN THE NAME OF ALL THINGS HOLY would you do it to a neon???
Yeah so the joke is still a neon. Cuz my Sentra will still be running 200,000 miles later. Will the neon? My bet says no.

All these "haters". It's just a neon so why get your panties in a bunch. They ARE cool cars. After years of getting bagged on, the American auto industry is finally responding with some cool cars. They're not Subaru's, but they're (the neons) pretty impressive nonetheless. No, it doesn't have AWD. No, it's not going to handle better than a Subaru in slippery conditions. We do live in the Bay Area though, so that doesn't come into play all that often. Give credit where credit is due.

I will NEVER own a fwd car. That being said, I find the neon to be a step in the right direction for the american car companies. It'll also have LSD standard next year although it'll be $900 more. The fact still remains that it's a relatively inexpensive car that goes really well. Add to that factory backed Mopar parts and you've got a really nice ride for relatively little money. Again, I won't be buying one, but I sure as hell respect Chrysler for making it.

I just think it's funny that you people worry 'bout neons...like someone pointed out earlier, it'll go in a str8 line all day but put it on the track, heck, even on hwy 1...we'll all finish the race and then call a tow truck to pull his a$$ out of the ditch!
I'm sure this particular neon is a bit more of a competition on the drags but hey, how long will it last? How many more rebuilds is this guy looking at in the next few years?

Yes, but you're still admitting that you're worried about them. Why do you have to defend your position by stating that you'll destroy them on hwy 1? If you weren't at all worried, you'd just leave it at that. You also state that they'll be looking at rebuilds in the future. Won't most modified cars? At least with the Neon you can get factory backed/warrantied parts.

Actually, I'm not worried at all...I just thought it was funny that someone would post something like "Watch out for this SRT4" on a WRX forum.
On our GS-R forum, we don't post stuff like this...
And Dodge kinda knows they'll be providing replacement parts that's why they warranty the stuff. LOL!
Besides, everyone knows you drive an import whereas, the domestic kinda drives you around.
Plus, who says all/most modified motors need rebuilding? It all depends on how good the setup is and how well it's maintained. You'd b surprised to see how many "hybrid" B-series are out there daily-driven and on the track/drags w/o comprimising the integrity of the setup.
I'm jus speaking from experience that domestics don't tend to last as long as imports do regardless of the proper maintenance.
