TRY, please for the love of all that is good in the universe to pretend you have some kind of education beyond 1st grade.
Now, that said, seller, you need to refund the money, take back the product, and that, is that. You broke the law by advertising the product in a deceptive manner, you also broke several state laws by then refusing to take the product back. Were I the buyer, you would be in small claims court now, and I would be pushing for charges with the DA to see you with some jail time.

People get screwed over by the internet all the time. Yes, we know it's craigslist but why become part of that statistic? Now, what angers me the most is when we all found out it was ANOTHER I-Clubber... WTF?????? Why would you do another subaru enthusiast wrong like that? Refund all the way!!!!

That and he sold it on craigslist because he knew of a problem with it. Thought he'd sucker someone not on the forum. Because he knew he couldnt pull that **** here. Then both people ended up being on here......
Remember kids..... The internet is Anonymous

I actually read this whole post...
I'd go with the refund, Thanks for ****in' over another car enthusiast. People like you disgust me. And if you somehow do pick up another scooby I sure hope there is a blacklist on this board and warnings on craiglist for a non-legit LYING seller.

It appears the "defendant" resides in Oakland, which is in Alameda County. Here is the website to Alameda County's small claims court.
http://www.alameda.courts.ca.gov/cou...ll/index.shtml
The filing fee for a claim under $1500 is $30. I once almost got ripped off by some douchebag on Craigslist (even his mom hung up on me and pretended not to know anything about it) and I would have GLADLY paid $30 just to see the look on his face when he gets served. (Although you cannot serve him yourself, you can get a friend to do it and take a pic for you to see). I say try to call him again, see if you can work out a resolution, and if not, use small claims court as the next resort. There is no reason why you should lose out on $340 just because it's "Craigslist" and "that's the way it is." That is retarded. Regardless of the forum in which you buy something, you are entitled to an accurate representation of the goods. Any sort of dishonesty, fraud, etc. should not be tolerated. The lesson about checking things out before you buy should be learned, but not at the cost of $340.
Screw cutting your losses and moving on. Take action and get your money back.
