Wagon Owners, I Need Your Help!
I'm getting this obnoxious rattle coming from the hatch. I have a 2002 WRX Wagon, and the rattling is coming from near the rear latch. Does anyone else have this annoying sound? I live in LA, and the roads aren't very forgiving and every single bump i go over, it makes this LOUD and annoying rattle. and let me emphasize again, the rattle is LOUD
anyone else have or heard of this problem? What do i gotta do? will a subaru dealership handle this problem for me?

Not sure if this helps but I recently noticed my wing was coming loose and one of the bolts was stripped This just causes it to wobble, no noise but if yours is bad enough that might cause it if you even have one. gl

i checked my wing, and there is some slight wobble too, but its not making any noise. i'll try tightening it just in case. how did you do it? do i need to pop out those squares on the top of the wing?

Maybe the noise is associated with the recall for 2002 and 2003 Subaru Impreza wagons concerning a safety defect with the tailgate wagon struts becoming loose and failing at the mounting studs/nuts. I got this recall notice in June 08, but I totally forgot about it as my 02 wagon got totaled and I got a 04 wagon. Hope this helps!

well its foam weather stripping that is black spongy material with white adhesive backing that is in a roll sold at OSH.
Then we just stuck it in the jamb next to the subaru weather stripping.
