Visiting San Fran Sept 29th - Oct 2nd

Hey-

Heading out to California for my first time, going to San Francisco.

I work with mortgage brokers in Marin County, San Francisco, San Rafael, Novato, etc...

Me and several co-workers are heading out to see the area that we work.

Staying in Fishermans Warf... What are some of the hotspots and things "to do?" Any good clubs that we should go to, neat bars that are a must stop?

Thanks!
-Mike Urban

Fisherman's warf is a nice area - 5 blocks from my office.

Theres the touristy things that are worth seeing, like Ghiradelli Square. Good bars in that area are Kennedy's, on Columbus and Chestnut (about 4 blocks from Fisherman's Wharf).

What business are you in - my company workks with mortgage brokers extensivly.

Rockys on the same intersection (kitty corner) is also good.

Personally, I think the best clubs are the ones in the Castro (gay district) even if you aren't gay. My GF and I go those often. Asia SF (downtown) is pretty fun too. Zeitgeist in SOMA can be fun as well if the weather is nice.

We did a pilot once with CitiGroup of our service - not sure what happened with it, but you guys turned it down. I hold you personally responsible .

True to this. there's just so much to do in this town. You can go to Divas (cross dresser club), across the street Lush Lounge, which is also great. And there's a bar across the street from that called Blur which serves sushi to help the alcoholic munchies... Personally, I go to local dive bars on my street, but there's action going on in every neighborhood. Check out the Sony Metreon, Union Square, Japan Town, and the Universe Within exhibit (Masonic center http://www.theuniversewithin.org/).

Just make sure to bring a sweater, because the city gets cold. However everywhere else is usually warm. Have a great time!

Bump for any more thoughts.

I am going to the Giants game on Friday night. I hear that will be a good time.

There's always the Triangle. It's center is Union and Steiner. There are nice neighborhood bars in every direction from there for blocks. It gets pretty crowded on the weekends so it's best to take a cab. Plus there is food everywhere. My two favorites are Pizza orgasmica (open all night) and Ace Wasabi's Rock n Roll Sushi. It's probably one of the cleanest parts of the city as well.

Thanks.

Do you like bars?

Medjool and Blondie's are great in the Mission as well. Not touristy.

Well, I'm fishing for suggestions I guess. I don't want to rule anything out.
Any car-stuff like museums, races, etc?
I'm assuming it'll most likely be cold and rainy in Jan. so hiking/outdoor stuff won't be too fun but is there tourist-y stuff that's worth seeing?
I will have a rental car.
