Sorry for all the fumes to those that were there when our shop pig dyno'd, would seem that a car with only 44 miles on it in it's current build may need something called tuning??
Great to get a free baseline and the advise received was priceless.

Ah, thanks Mike, I guess that explains it. Guess your shop car may be another horror story for the "why to dislike tuning non-Vishnu mods" policy

The numbers we received for our car today were right inline for a setup with only 44 miles on it and with the only thing worked on with regards to tuning being the idle control (notoriously **** with the Link)
The graph we got is a work of art, it looks like a spider dipped it's legs in ink and walked over a blank sheet of paper.

Hi Mike,
Glad you could make the dyno day. We're thinking about making something like this a somewhat regular event since everyone seemed to have a good time. Thanks to everyone for coming. Not to mention Mother Nature for smiling upon us for nice cool, hp-friendly weather.
FWIW, the STi we tested dyno'd between 218 and 226 wheep hp which is right in-line with all the other STis we've tested. That one stock WRX (with BOV) dyno'd at 170 which is actually quite good (they usually dyno around 160-165 wheel hp) The two stock EVOs made 195-205 wheel hp. EVOs and WRXs are run in 3rd gear. The STi is run in 4th gear (which is the gear ratio equivelent of 3rd gear in a regular WRX). The Neon STR4 dyno'd right at 200 wheel hp (only to two wheels, of course) which is virtually identical to the several other SRT4s we've dyno'd in the last several weeks. That's a very impressive powerplant-- super consistent, resistent to heaksoak, and very knock resistent. Another persons EVO (with catless turbo-back and S-AFC) put down a consistent 240-245 all wheel hp after 20-30 tuning runs.
All in all, pretty impressive results from small displacement turbo motors on pump gas. For comparison to more expensive cars, an E46 M3 puts down ~230 rear wheel hp. A Ferrari F360 Modena puts down 300 rear wheel hp. A Porsche 993tt puts down ~300-310 all wheel hp. A Porsche 996tt puts dfown 340-350 all wheel hp. A Lambo Diablo VT puts down ~350 all wheel hp. R33 Skyline puts down, IIRC, ~240 all wheel hp. With the next few weeks, we hoping to get our hands on both a Ferrari F50 and an F40! You can bet that we'll break out the cameras for that day! Not to mention the compulsory hot-lap
Cheers

Currently, we're making maps for 2004 WRX which, thanks to Ecutek, we recently received the ROM files for. Should have 2004 Stage kit ECU mapping for those up and running quite soon.
As far as EVOs go, we're Stage 0s are making 220-225 wheel hp. Stage 1s around 240 wheel hp. On race gas maps, about 20hp more. No stage 2 ready yet but considering the hardware (GT3037, tubular manifold, 660cc/min injectors, Bosche Motorsports fuel pump, etc., ) we expect to see 280-300 wheel hp on pump gas. And hopefully 370-400 wheel hp on race gas. Time will tell, I suppose...
Cheers,
Shiv

It was great to meet you at UCKK. I was just talking about the stories regarding smoke belchers and fuel leakers on the dyno that have made them empty the building for fear of fire/explosion Just being facetious of course.

Thanks for the constant updates Shiv! I missed this dyno day but I'll definitely show up if there's another!
