The reason why the phones in Asia (Korea and Japan) aren't brought here as fast is because of localization. They have to change all of the menus, create a manual, packaging, etc. to bring to the US market. Perhaps they could bring the phones from the UK here, but who knows what the real deal is.
But yeah, we're way behind. Korea released a 7mp camera phone in March lol. Here, we are barely on 2mp, but who uses a phone for real pix anyways. :x

Yeah they got much better technology and we get 2-3 years behind technology.
I think it is because companies keep wanting to make us re-up our plans because we want discounts on the new phones so they withhold technology and trickle it into new phones so they can keep bringing out phones every year with "new features" but in reality the technology has existed for a couple years.
That way they can keep us re-upping our plans rather than letting us buy a top of the line phone and not need a new one for 2-3 years which would take us out of our contracts and give them less guaranteed money.
Did that make sense?

I also think the reason we don't have those is because we're a country that has extremely tight security about cameras. I know some people can't even have a cell phone if it has a camera on it, due to security issues at work.

the reason we get the stuff later is probably because it allows the cell phone companies to maximize profits by giving its products a longer lifespan. once their products become outdated in asia, they are then marketed in the US where they will see new life.

Is the V3c more reliable than the previous models from Cingular/T-mobile?
I know a few people with the razr and they say it sucks *** because it keeps dropping calls and losing reception
