i will second that "food was so-so" comment. the food didnt live up to how nice the resturant looked. it was about $25 per person and i could have been more satisfyed with apple bees. i wouldnt recommend going there just for the view. you also need the food to make a date good.

I went to Grand View on Saturday. It was great place to take a date and the view is spectacular. If you time it just right, like I did, you'll catch the sunset. After dinner, we went up near the summit and parked off to the side to get a view higher up. Here's a pic from outside Grand View Express. They stopped taking reservations, but I would recommend this place for the next time you hook up with a date. The bill came up to be $47 but I left $60 since they gave me a table without reservations.

Can't go wrong with House of Prime Rib off Van Ness in the city. Probably 80 bucks max with a great cut and a nice cabernet. Fondue is great too. Melting Pot in dowtown SJ and La Fondue in Saratoga at the bottom of 9. I would say to taker her to see Corteo in San Jose after a Fondue dinner or if you like Italian, Original Joe's is a casual place with decent food. Sushi Coast is off 4th street in the area and is one of those hidden gems. Great sushi and very easy on the wallet as well.

I would go for either Horizons or The Spinnaker in Sausalito, great view and under $200

Thank you.
if you like the idea of great italian food, and great setting, take her to mona lisa's in little italy in SF, it's right off broadway.. where you can take her after dinner for some lap dances.

average of 15-25 dollars a plate. and the wine selection is great and not a hefty price. and the guy who works the door is a ****ing salesman, you walk bye after just eating down the road, i promise he'll talk you into eating at their place too haha, but then again all the places in little italy are like that haha.

Here's a view...

http://www.mtnhomeinn.com/home.html

Overlooking the world...or so it would seem.

The gas to drive up there: $10
The meal with a bottle of wine to share: $100
The drive up there, and the view when you relax at dinner: Priceless

Panoramic Hwy address...need I say more?
