Finally, after 8 years of mediocrity, USA Men's Basketball are Gold medal winners again!

That was an awesome game! I think it was better to have a close, exciting game vs a boring blowout. My friends and I stayed up to watch and it was well worth it. This game had a lot of emotion and we all felt it. I'm really glad the US got the gold after so many dismal years. I loved watching each of the stars play. It's too bad I was too young to get to watch the Dream Teams of the yesteryears. I hope these guys get renamed the Dream Team of 08 because they played a great tournament. The last two games weren't as dominating but there was no point in the game that you thought USA were being outplayed.

Nothing will ever come close to comparing to the 92 Dream team. Best team ever assembled. Top to bottom except Christian Laitner, most ruthless and experienced bunch of cold blooded winners that would literally demolish you till you were dead and beat you more. Watching that team was an utter joy and made you feel sorry for the International game in 92.
Back to the current redeem team, they needed the championship pedigree of Kobe & Wade. Without those 2 stars knocking down the clutch shots they would have lost this game ala 04. 92 roster top to bottom were filled with clutch champions anybody could have taken the shots just a matter of who got the ball.
