When I saw Vitor crumble after that kick I was like......wut?

Never count Anderson Silva out, guy is way too crafty.

Silva is way too dangerous. That was a lot of torque in that kick and it hit on the button. Good night to any one who gets knocked in the jaw with that.

Not so much torque on the kick as it was torque on Belfort's head due to the point of impact and Belfort's inability to brace for the kick due to surprise. It was just a run-of-the-mill straight-line "mae geri keage" that everyone learns as their first kick in karate class. Seriously. But I do give Silva credit for flipping his hips into it (good tanden movement to generate crisp snap) and especially for choosing to target the head. Hitting the "spot" was infinitely more important than what it was hit with -- that same front kick wouldn't have even pushed Belfort back a step if it were to the body. Hence, good strategy and technique on Silva's part.

On another note, front kick KO's aren't unheard of (although nowhere near as common as roundhouse or knee KO's). Five years ago in K-1 World Max...

You called it, Ray! So well-timed & precise that kick was!

I didn't get back fr Tahoe in time to watch a live stream online, but I hung out up there long enough to watch the pre-lims on Spike.

Looking back @ my picks, I woulda looked like a genius had I went strictly w/ "Column A." 10 of 11 listed first won his bout. Johnson is the lone exception.

I was really disappointed w/ Omigawa's showing. And Kingsbury surprised me as much as he did Romero in their bout! Paul Taylor deserves a HUGE 'Thank you from the bottom of my heart.' for that highlight-reel KO. I was kinda shocked that Rich's hands & footwork weren't enough to overcome Forrest's kicks, but he used his tools well to take the fight where he'd be most successful. I still have to watch a few of the other broadcast fights to see exactly how everything played out.

Whose watching tonight?

In the prelims, Nate Diaz got tossed around like a rag doll in the 3rd round. Got suplexed 3 times on or around the head, ouch.

lol Machida takes a page straight from The Karate Kid movie and KO's Couture with the white crane kick

And in the post fight interview, Machida thanks Steven Seagal (among others) for helping him with that kick

Couture said he will not fight again after this loss.
