know how much it costs...My girlfriend has to walk at like 1:00AM back across campus...Not good for a girl to do...I get worried...(but live 1.5 hrs. away) sooo...i get idea... Buy her a permit, then she can drive to class at night. But permits cost 500 dollars i thought.
so if anyone knows someone who doesn't use theirs, or knows how to get one cheaper, I would be greatly endebted, (or thankful).
-Thanks.

As for shady ways, you're screwed. As a guest, say you're visiting faculty and you should be able to get A-lot permits for $5 a day. If you're going to be there often enough that that is a ripoff, you can do joint registration (put your girl's name on your pink) and get a permit under her name, but it will probably only be a remote permit unless she's a junior or senior.

Permits are tied to license plates and registrations. She shuld be able to get a remote permit, but that doesn't cut down on walking much. C- lots are hard to come by, as there's a lottery for them. Plus, as you said, they're like $570
my GF lived at high and nobel last year, so I got a carpool permit for $300 and just drove her when she needed a ride, but that's not really an option for you.

Busses stop running after midnight. However there are some late night shuttles, but those are not very frequent.
Basically the only way to get from a to b past midnight in sc is to hoof it or drive.
