Turkey Day Recipes!!!

You guys do anything different for thanksgiving grub? Something everyone loves that you don't get off the back of a campbell's soup can?

I'm trying to come up with some different variations of the traditional.

I'll see if I can find my recipes when we get home but I did make some KILLER oatmeal cookies last night.

I usually make a pumpkin cheese pie. This year I put in some milk chocolate chips into the cream cheese layer and also made a butter cookie crust.

Beer butt turkey. Fosters can (top cut off), 1/2 beer 1/2 tomato juice. Put garlic, and spices of your choice at shove it up there. Coat the outside.with olive oil and salt and prop it up in the oven on a cookie sheet until its done. Best. Turkey. Ever!

SUSHIIIIIIIII that's our family's contribution to the party every year.

Then again, that's my dad's job too.

Ice the breasts of the turkey! I believe someone started a thread in nasioc about it.

30 minutes before it goes in the oven set a ziplock filled with crushed ice across the breasts. Changes the white meat from dry to super moist.

My family makes a thing called Pretzel Salad. Crushed pretzels, butter and sugar baked in a 9x13 pan in a 1/4" thick layer. Pour favorite fruit jello flavor with mixed berries over pretzel crust. Refrigerate until jello solidifies. Mix cream cheese and coolwhip 1:1 and coat jello.

INCREDIBLE!

It's like that for most jobs. "I just did that for 8 hours, why would I want to do it more?"

Yup. All the flavors from the liquid cook it from the inside out. Kinda like brining a turkey.

Yup, people would wonder why I'm not into mobile apps and smart phones... I gotta deal with that **** for 10 hours a day (well used to), no reason for me to use it when I get home.
