As for tonight's episode, I enjoyed it more than the first....which isn't saying much.

I don't think the series will be on for more than 2 years max. Too much money and probably not enough ratings to justify the costs. It would be better for them to bring episodes of Top Gear UK (not everyone has the BBC channel) to the states than make an american version.
My only problem is that the UK version is cut down to fit into the one hour time slot with commercials on BBC America.

I completely agree.

2nd was improved over 1st. Tanner vs skiers was slow at first, but once he got into it, was much better. Tanner is just... boring to watch. I hope he lets loose alittle.

that ski race looked like a fixed race. How much of a coincidence is it that one of the skiers happened to jump over the Evo exactly as it was passing beneath him? Maybe I don't watch enough UK Top Gear to know if races are usually fixed to make it more exciting.

Plus, they still haven't cracked one joke about the Stig and the Stig isn't playing any music while he's driving.

TopGear UK does things like "jumping over the cars" thing. Probably are fixed to an extent. Both shows do that.

Yeah, the second episode was a great improvement. I can honestly say I enjoyed it.

I hope this gets better, this second episode was at the "good enough" point for me.

I watched the first episode and couldn't even finish it. Unless they stop acting like frightened virgins on a first date this show is doomed!

they say the races aren't fixed, but they do film more scenes after the race. so basically they film the race as it's going on and they film stuff that they need after.

The race was TOO fixed on this past show. When he came to the "finish line" and did that little slide the car hadn't seen snow in the past few days, let a lone a minute before =P

Think about the show as if you had never seen the UK version, which A LOT of America has NOT seen... The show is fun and entertaining (I love the UK version, but I'm trying not to compare the two, just accept them as they are, after all it's for entertainment, not making up a bunch of things that are wrong, but remember that they aren't the same show, the new one is focused on both people that have not seen the UK version and people who have).

It needs time to iron things out, like someone else said earlier, the UK version back in the day was pretty bad... They had different people, and whole different dynamic. That's what's going on here on the US version. It's only season 1, and I bet they will eliminate one of the guys and replace him to get better ratings, etc... Just like the UK version.

In short:

Give it some time to grow and adapt!!! Just like the UK version, same deal.
