What RPM are you talking about? You're not just lugging the engine are you?

Ah I think I know what you're describing...just the driveline lash of the WRX/SubaruAWD...when you take your foot off the gas there are a lot of gears that have load on them that have to settle down. The WRX is not the smoothest of cars when you come off the throttle jerkily.

hah
I have heard it described as "driveline ******" and the explanation that was given for it was that if you think about it the WRX has 5 drive axles essentially. So when you go from accelerating to slowing down each of the joints has a small amount of play and they add up to a more pronounced jerk than a two wheel drive car. I'm sure the tranny and stuff adds to it. It was deemed normal though. Don't know if that's any help...

Our cars were made to be driven hard. I haven't heard of many engines blowing, it's just the trannies that are having trouble with all the power.

OK, cool - thanks for the info - that makes sense. I was worried that maybe i had done something wrong or whatever - i like to think of myself as a good driver as i grew up racing things - but i definetley dont put it past myself to screw somthing up.

edit - btw, this is my first WRX, and ive only had it for a few weeks - before i had a bulletproof OBS - so i just wanna make sure that im treating my new baby right.
