you be amazed what head work, cams and pistons can do for a n/a. they could also modify the crank profile, exhaust manifold or even intake manifold. remember the target goal for this motor is between 160hp and 200hp on the base model. this car will also get the Toyota's D-4S fuel injection system which should help them get some power as well

We’re sure if Subaru’s version of the car will be sold in the United States, which has a little upset. Subaru expects a longer-than-aveage lifecycle for the model and it plans on keeping things fresh with a possible STI version shortly after launch, said Toshio Masuda, a Subaru senior general manager of product planning.
Subaru’s STI department is known for beefing up a vehicles performance with the use of turbocharging, performance tires, powerful brakes and a sport-tuned suspension. However, officials say that going turbo for the rear-wheel-drive sports car is doubtful since the original plan calls for keeping the boxer engine naturally aspirated

VRT I believe that is totally incorrect. Looks like the new impreza to me.
Theres been 2 spied dealios on the ring, 1 which looked different than the fr-s scion slightly, and sported plates from the Subaru garage at the ring, where the other one was toyotas garage. Neither of those cars looked anything like the pictures/video you posted.
Toyota did say their concept was 95% complete so pretty sure fr-s will look neato.
