Don't know if you guys have been following the Toyota FJ concept. I guess it is going to production. Official unveiling is tomorrow.

it wont...
it's just toyota's way of having an Xterra fighter...
nothing to see here... move along...
NOW, if they really wanted to make an FJ-110, solid axles, diesel, no carpet, no DVD nav, no thins, no that...
but no... it's a yuppie mobile...
otherwise, i'd be the first in line to put money down on it...

What is with auotmotive stylists these days? they all seem to be out to make the ugliest things anyone has ever seen!
If this trend continues, we'll be looking back at the Pontiac Aztek as a "classic" design.

Xterra fighter? Toyota already does, it's called a 4Runner.
The 4Runner is really one of the only SUV's out there with real Off-Road capability off the showroom floor. Tahoe's and Trailblazers are a joke (the Outback has more ground clearance than both of them!).
Anyway, I hope Toyota is true to their roots by making the new FJ an awesome wheeler. I really like the design, especially how they even kept the wrap-around windows in the rear!
A buddy of mine had an FJ40.... that thing was bulletproof. With a 4" suspension lift and 33's, there weren't many places he couldn't go.

.
.
been like that since 1990 when the 4runner went into it's second generation (and when i got mine) and when nissan released the pathfinder.
i think i still have a reprint of an comparo article that CAR AND DRIVER did of the then SUVs. 1 was the pathfinder, #2 was the explorer (also the first year it was out) and 3rd was the 4runner. there was a total of 7 vehicles, IIRC.
about a week after getting my 4runner, i remember having a buyers remorse and wanting to get an explorer instead...
lucky my dad yelled and told me no... i havent regretted that decision in 15 years...
