He was staying in the back for the first couple days to save himself for a push in the later stages when the riders who had been pushing hard to be upfront for the whole first stages of the race would tire themselves out, so he could just catch them with ease and be alot more prepared to do the long haul and win.

it's down to lance, basso and ullrich.
basso is pretty scare. I think it's all about lance tomorrow. If he lays the smack down on basso it's over....I predict another 1/2 finish on the next stage for those two.
Only thing that is gonna stop him is basso coming up huge or a wreck..mostly a wreck. he didn't even look tired at the end....the kid in they yellow looked like he was about to die.

Setting World Record 6 straight... I think that more important right now than a gold for the USA.
Maybe after he takes another couple wins in TDF, he'll focus on olympics, where he'll probably dominate also.
