I have a 3/8 Snap-On 3ft lbs to 115 for all the smaller torque bolts like tranny pans, manifolds, ect. that have gaskets. I have a 1/2 Craftsman for my lugs and other bolts 80 lbs and above. The thing to think about in just getting a 1/2 is what is it's lowest setting and can it fit in tight areas, the more you use reducers and extensions it will distort the torque. DONT buy Harbor Freight!! They're good for hand tools not precision tools.

If you watch ebay, you can get a pretty good deal on a Snap-On Digital Torque wrench. I just got one 2 months ago for $207 shipped.
Snap on Techwrench 3 8 Drive Digital Torque Wrench | eBay
It is even the Techangle model that also shows torque angles.
I have seen them go for between $150-$200... you just have to be patient.

And after some searching......The Garage Journal Board - View Single Post - Griot's Torque Wrenches - No More Free Calibration. Don't pay attention to the other posts below it since those people don't know what they are saying.
For the record, I never handled or tried the pivot swivel neck digital design, only handled the manual turn-to-click and set neck model.

just my opinion but i think the Craftsman click type torque wrench 1/2" is crap. when i worked as a tech a few years ago, i had to get it replaced twice because the collar which locks in the torque setting would break after awhile.
