Maybe I am pushing the wrong idea with the thread right now.

With $3460:

I could buy a lot of beer.
Build a few kick *** computers
Get a lot of lap dances
Pay for a lot of 87 octane gas
etc.

With that money, that could have gone towards your tuition.

Believe me, I've regretted almost every cent I've wasted on my first car (92 Integra). Ran like crap when I sold it, but hey, I had a shiny new GReddy exhaust! Yay. -_-

thats what i keep telling him

For 6g's you can buy MANY fun cars that will beat much higher priced cars like miata's, eg's, or go dorifto in rx7's or 240's.

I've spent total on my car for aftermarket parts...probably 300-400 dollars..

Free mudflaps from my brother
free 27mm fsb from friends
sick deal on my magnaflow titanium exhaust for 270
misc badge/license plate - 50

It helps to have some self control on your spendings which is really hard to do. I really wanted to drop $$ on jdm fogs, lip, springs etc...do i NEED it? nope, do i want it? hell yes. when i start making big money you can bet i'll put everything i ever wanted in this car.

oh yeah, it also helps when u dont have money

if i hadnt have modded my STi, i wouldve been able to pay for my bike outright, buy my ex a decent ring ( glad i modded the car instead) paid off my student loans, and i wouldve gotten a hotel and not slept in my car when i went to S.E.M.A. a few years back.

oh yeah, and i probably wouldve been half way done resto-modding my 67 GTO

I think you are in a slightly different situation though. You have an STi and that kind of changes it. I got a question, did you count the cost for your mirror(s) and the new tires?

I think the thing that costs me the most was the wheels, tires, and mounting and balancing.

Haha. I think the $3k is about enough to find me a rolled clip. I dunno about labor and wiring though.

I do.

as for what I would do with the money I put into my car if I hadn't put it in my car. Probably ate or drank it away so ummmmm.... I'd put it in my car.

I'm on the lower side of dough spent but It's probably more than twice what the onion put.

I've spent over $6200 on my R32 since 9/06 to keep it drivable and stock. It is currently at the dealer getting a new transmission and HVAC system. I got this car to stop spending money on my Suby and now I feel dumb when I realize I have spent my way nearly to what a swap would have cost in my Coupe (that was the dream). Oh well, no way I coulda known what was in store for me I guess. Live and learn, learn and burn.

I'd bet your estimate would be off by at least $5000
