The time has come for doctors to stick a friggin drill up my nose so I can breathe!
All my life I've had horrendous sinuses, so bad that I constantly have congestion (not a day goes by in my life that this isn't the case) and often get sinus infections. I've tried all sorts of treatments from sprays to pills, to humidifiers and saline... Nothing works for me. Honestly, there hasn't been a day in my life that has passed where I wasn't very congestion and not able to do anything about it. finally enough has been enough. I bit the bullet and saw a professional about it, and I go under the knife the day before my Bday, June 8th!
I'm really nervous about this because of what the procedure entails. Basically, and this is no joke, what they do is stick a drill up your nose and drill out all the tissue that is blocking my sinuses, all while I'm awake! The scary thing is, it might not work the first time and I may need return trips! The results of a successful procedure are well worth the agony though. Being able to breath again is def worth the price.
I was wondering if any of you have gone under the knife (drill) for sinus surgery? If so, what were your results?
I've gone through many medical procedures in my life, from bursting appendix, to compound fractures, to black widow bites, and all the treatment that go along with those, but I've never been as nervous as I am with this procedure... The whole drill in your nose thing freaks me the hell out! Why did I make the mistake of watching a video of them doing the drilling?! WHY!?

I also have really fupduck sinuses. Constant headaches and severe congestion. Broke my nose when I was around 6-7 years old. Septoplasty and turbinate reduction, twice. They have also poked holes from one sinus cavity into another to get better drainage. These were done under a general anesthetic. Very painfull for a few days until the removal of all of the cotton packing in my sinuses.
Helped for a little while then problems returned.

The above looks like "wound packing" and you do that to prevent a wound from healing on the outside before it has healed on the inside.
Daniel - if you don't make it R.I.P. (just kidding, you'll be better than ever after )
I've have surgery under general anesthesia twice - Good Luck!
