Time Attack becoming more main stream---CHECK OUT THIS ARTICLE
Time Attack form of motor sports has become more and more popular in the United States recently within a pretty short amount of time. Time Attack has been referred to as Japan’s NASCAR and is considered as popular as drifting in Japan, if not equal. A couple great things about Time Attack is that with the classes a street car prepared to see track time can compete as well as your local tuner shop on the same track using. Another thing is due to the small amount of restrictions within Time Attack you can see a lot of parts available for your car on cars competing in the Time Attack. These things are why Time Attack has gotten popular and is now going more main stream with several magazines covering events as well as Speed TV and ESPN covering events. Check out this recent article on SpeedTV.com about Time Attack, you may notice some quotes from our own Mike Warfield (owner and EFI tuner), as well as pictures of our very own Impreza L Time Attack car.

Time attack is really interesting and pretty fun to watch because when you're racing against the clock, spectators can see the result right away just like auto-x, but faster. I always liked the idea of time trials because most of us want to go FAST, not neccessarily race. It's great the GST L is doing this, and i really wish and hope this car or any new built gst time trial car will beat the "mighty" crawford time attack car. Their car is sick i agree, but their company is not that well liked by the bay area community, unlike the lovable gst. I hope you guys do well in other time trials.

Fastest time out of your given "hot laps" wins. Format is usually one warm up lap then 2-4 "hot" laps (timed laps) then one cool down lap. There is usually qualifying, round 1, semi finals and finals.

How is road racing not mainstream??? F1, IRL, KART, Champ Car, Grand AM and some endurance races. If these are not main stream then what is??? NASCAR? Even they do 2 (maybe more) road courses a season. ESPN and Speed TV have picked up a lot of events and combined with websites, forums and magazines things are easily seen as main stream today.
