is there a decent carwash in SF?

Before I never had to wash my car, cause SUV don't like to be washed....
but now WRX is just begging for a wash.... so is there a good carwash I can take the car to, that won't damage the paint and such?

I can rarely wash the car myself, as I don't have a garage/lawn/anything ;-) and its a hassle to drive to my folks everytime my car is dirty.

cheers

Take it to the Touchless Car Wash on Divisadero/Oak. I think they charge like 16.00 for a basic wash, plus they'll sell you gas for teh cheap (at least in San Francisco) when you get a carwash.

You can get coupon booklets from them as well.

OR

Take it to Tower Car Wash, Mission & S. Van Ness. 19.99 is their basic wash, but no discount on gas, touchless as well. They also have coupon books. Tower does a better job than Divisadero, but I don't think it's worth the extra 4 bucks, plus it's further than the Divisadero one for me.

OR

There is a do-it-yourself carwash on Geary near the Coronet movie theatre, the kind where you have a stall, you put in quarters and they give you a high pressure washer and a brush.

OR

in South San Francisco, off of Grand/101 on the east side of 101 there is a Texaco station that has an automated touchless carwash which is pretty nice. I think it was about 6 bucks for the basic wash.

gdawrx........... no....... dont go to those places..... they reused the same towel everyday. Plus you never know if they drop the towel.

Do not go to the quarter brush place too (saw a woman the other day with a brand new black STi OUCH!!!!), it will scratch your car plus you will see alot of swirl marks.

Just use bucket (like i do) to wash your car or go back to your parent house for hose. OOO Mr. clean is a A+++++ product too.....if you have a hose

I'd use the 1/4 brush place w/o using the brush. Bring your own towel, and use the high pressure spray.

WRX's love dirt. I drive it on dirt a few days a week.

but you should really become one with your car and wash it yourself.

dang it looks like I havta to wash it myself using the bucket, as going to my parents is too much hassle. Went to Costco today they had this bucket with Turtle car stuff in it for 10 bux - i got that, but its missing the "car wash for 'tards" cartoon booklet so I am incapasitated.

the bucket contains:
1)Glove made from furry material
2)small brush like for cleaning toilet
3)Turtle car wash soap
4)1 Towel
5)Turltle Luquid Wax
6)Carpet CLeaner - thank god I know what thats for!
7)Turtle Wheel and Tire cleaner
8)Glass CLeaner
9)Lastly the bucket!
so all this goodness for 10$, but how do I actually apply it to the car?

so I assume I fill the bucket with water, and spill that all over the car?
or buy a sponge, fill the bucket with water+plus soap, spunge, and then dry with the towel from bucket?

is the furry glove for buffing of for self pleasuring?

mkay they should have never let me out of work early.... too much liability

dang thanks thats exaclty what i needed!
one thing is that the glove looks like it may not take the abuse of washing - it looks like sheepskin. should i use the glove or get a simple trusty American sponge?

I would toss both and use 100% cotton towels.
Wait, I would toss everything you had except for the bucket and order from these people:

www.zainobros.com

Best stuff around.

At Oak and Divisdero there is a hand wash place. They do a pretty good job, if they're not tired For $20 a pop thought I quickly found its not worth it. Instead I got married and got a larger apartment with a garage and wash it myself. I'm saving a whole lot of money. Really.
