you could always call your insurance, claim comprehensive and make him pay the deductible.

the key thing is to be polite about the situation. if you're a dick off the bat you only add insult to injury.

WInnaR!

Living in the boonies with absent landowners for neighbors, I've dealt with this for years.

In California, you have the right to trim branches up to the property line; don't hack off limbs past the property line as you may be sued.

Start off by nicely talking your neighbor; give them the chance to make it right.

Failing that, trim the branch yourself & present the neighbor with an estimate for the body work.

haha, buy one of those car port canopy things, and put it right up against the fence, so when they fall, they land on the canopy and roll back onto his property...hehe

Take pictures of your car in that parking spot. You need some sort of evidence that the tree caused the damage. You never know how people will respond to your request for paying for body damage.

Sorry Bryan, that is soo frustrating! I know how particular you are about keeping your paint nice.

That's just as frustrating as a**holes in parking lots that door ding me and run their carts into my fenders.

Yes, I'm going to be polite about it. I'm dropping by the shop tomorrow after I get an oil change to get a estimate written up and drop it off to the neighbor.. Go from there..
